Our Approach
This five-part thematic course and workshop follows the circulation of an artwork through five key nodes of the art market: the artist's studio, gallery, art fair, auction house, and collection.
Each session combines an illustrated introduction with a guided simulation based on a real-world art-market situation. Selected landmark works and major movements in modern, post-war, and contemporary art are woven into the scenarios, allowing participants to learn about the artworks themselves while understanding how they are presented, brought to market, bought, sold, and collected.
By the end of the series, participants will have gained a practical understanding of how the art market operates, greater familiarity with major artists and works of modern and contemporary art, and experience discussing these subjects in French.
