Artwork Photography Support
Clear photographs help appraisers provide faster, more accurate, and more cost-effective support
Service Description
Many appraisal projects become slower, more expensive, or require unnecessary on-site inspections simply because the available photographs do not provide enough information. Clear, well-prepared images are often the fastest way for us to understand what you own and determine the most appropriate next step. The artwork photography support service helps collectors, families, attorneys, executors, and financial professionals prepare photographs that support an efficient professional review. We evaluate the photographs you provide, identify missing or unclear information, and explain what additional images may be helpful before recommending further services or a formal appraisal. Well-prepared photographs allow us to better assess an artwork's overall appearance, medium, condition, signatures, inscriptions, labels, and other important details. In many cases, they help reduce unnecessary delays, minimize additional costs, and may eliminate the need for an initial on-site inspection. Our goal is not to create professional photographs, but to help you provide clear visual documentation that supports informed decision-making. Most collections can be photographed successfully using a smartphone when the right information is captured. We will guide you through the process and explain what photographs are most helpful for your particular project. Please note that photographs alone are not sufficient for every assignment. Depending on the purpose of the appraisal, the nature of the artwork, and the available documentation, additional research or an on-site inspection may still be required.
Cancellation Policy
JY&A Booking Policy Payment is required before work begins. Clients are encouraged to provide any available inventories, photographs, supporting documents, and other relevant information before the service begins, whenever applicable. Well-prepared information helps improve efficiency and allows us to determine the most appropriate next step. Any work beyond the purchased service or agreed project scope will begin only after written client approval. Deliverables and the estimated turnaround time will be confirmed once the project scope has been established. If additional services—including travel, on-site visits, photography, documentation support, research, third-party coordination, shipping, storage visits, or other project-related work—are required, a separate quotation will be provided before additional work begins. Whenever appropriate, services are provided remotely to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs. On-site services will be recommended only when professionally necessary. Service fees are non-refundable once work has begun. Our goal is to provide efficient, transparent, and professional support tailored to the needs of each project.
